2 by 2, the Brand

Creating an identity for the National Institute if Design’s design magazine.

What do we represent?
2by2 is playful, energetic, accessible, digestible, and boldly speaks what it set out to do. It is inspired by the energy of the students and teachers on campus, and projects the thoughts of the unseen, unheard, and unspoken.

In the early stages of deciding our voice and vision for 2by2, we met up with Rajesh Dahiya of Codesign. In those 90 minutes, he completely flipped our idea of what ‘a college magazine’ could manifest as. He said something, which none of us in the team will ever forget, “Create something so controversial, you’ll have to leave campus for a week after it is released. Go completely underground.” He scrutinized us. “By the look of you guys, you might not reach underground, but you’ll definitely do ‘ground…’”
